India TV, in association with CVoter started a early opinion poll back in August to read the pulse of the voters around the state and to predict the possible winner. A total of 20,462 voters were asked regarding their opinions on who should come to power in the next assembly elections. This survey has shown that BJP and SP are in the same position, and BSP is also not far behind. The results of the opinion polls are as follows:

ABP News – Lokniti CSDS Opinion Polls UP 2017 elections.
In the period between 23rd July and 7th August, 2016, another major survey was organized by the ABP news along with the Lokniti CSDS to find out which party has the upper hand in the next elections in Uttar Pradesh. A total of 4,000 voters were enquired about their opinions and the results were published as follows:

Some facts about the upcoming Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly elections of 2017:
- A total of 403 seats will to election in Uttar Pradesh in early 2017 and to form a stable government, the majority seat of 202 is required. No opinion poll has concluded that a single party can form the govt. on its own.
- Some opinion polls have predicted the win of BJP which is currently in the news after the much talked surgical strikes and the demonetization of higher denomination currencies.
- Mayawati’s BSP may also make an entry this time with its pro Dalit and caste based views.
- Samajwadi Party is fighting inside with its family problems and is expected to have a defeat this time.
