Reliance Jio Free Offer Might Extend Its Offer Till June But Will Charge Rs. 100

Reliance Jio Free Offer Might Extend Its Offer Till June But Will Charge Rs. 100

Reliance has shifted its gears this time with a very important marketing strategy by extending their current offer for 3 months more with a nominal tariff. At present the Reliance Jio users are enjoying the free data and talk time offer provided by Jio from the new-year i.e. 1st Jan, 2017. However, before that, the launching offer by Jio named the Welcome offer was more lucrative and took the entire country by storm. While other network providers are struggling to bring down their data packs and other bundle offers, Jio has been providing free internet and calling for almost four months in a row to its subscribers. But Reliance has now taken a crucial strategy to charge nominally to avail their services, post March 31st, 2017 and extend its offer till the end of June.

Details of the extended Happy New Year Jio Offer after 31st March

As the current offer will get terminated on 31st March midnight, Jio has pitched another great offer to hold back its valued customers. This offer, unlike previous two offers will be chargeable for Rs. 100 per month, per connection. This monthly rental will be fixed and will be charged only for the unlimited data. However, there will be no charges applied for making voice calls and SMSs and those services will still remain free and unlimited. This paid 4G data will also be unlimited as it is, right now. This new offer will continue till 30th June, 2017. It is high time when Reliance starts making some business in the country after providing free and unlimited data and calling facility to the 72 million customers in the country after its launch few months ago. A total of more than Rs. 2 lakh crore has already been invested by the Mukesh Ambani. Recently he has announced to invest more 30 thousand crore in this telecom industry.

Reasons behind this new extended offer

Below are some major reasons for launching the extended offer from 1st April 2017 and will continue up to 30th June, 2017 and will be charged Rs. 100 per subscriber:

  • After catering more than 72 million subscribers for free for more than 4 months after its launch, Jio needs to recover its debt that has incurred over the period. At present, around Rs. 49 thousand crore is in the debt account of Reliance Jio with an addition of Rs. 21 thousand crore to be payable to the govt. for the spectrum charges.
  • As per telecom regulations a telecom operator can run its promotional offer for a maximum period of 3 months which means Jio will have to charge for its plans after 31st March, 2017.
  • After creating record number of subscribers in a very short time, Jio has now a big test to pass by retaining those customers when they start charging. Hence the Rs. 100 offer per month will be a big test on how the subscribers react and know if they are willing to stay in the network.
  • With several issues of poor call quality, call failures, etc. Jio will buy more time to improve their network reach and optimize it. So the extended offer for Rs. 100 will give it time to reframe its network coverage.

Offers from other telecom operators to compete Reliance Jio

As record number of telecom subscribers has shifted their loyalties over the last few months and has started to use the free data and voice offers provided by Reliance Jio, other competitors are also in action to give tough competition and retain those customers. Below are some great offers provided by some leading operators:

Sl. No. Operator Offer
1 Vodafone Super Hour Pack for Rs. 16 – Unlimited 3G/4G data for 1 hour
2 Vodafone Unlimited Vodafone voice calls for Rs. 7 per hr.
3 Idea Unlimited 3G/4G data for 1 hour @ Rs. 22.
